Oakland, California, contractors are refusing to complete a road paving project due to a dangerous work environment. Potholes and vehicle-disabling debris are starting to worsen as the road was unpaved to prepare for the project that has not been completed. Residents complain about continuous rocks and small pieces of gravel kicking up each time large vehicles, such as buses, drive by. Oakland has been a dangerous place for a long time, and things have worsened in recent years. Recently, a man was robbed while pushing an ice cream cart in broad daylight on camera. In-N-Out Burger and other brick-and-mortar businesses have recently closed down, not due to a lack of business but a lack of safety outside of the establishment.
