President Trump Expects To Be Arrested In New York On Tuesday

Former President Donald Trump says he expects to be arrested in New York on Tuesday over charges relating to “hush money” paid to Stormy Daniels. Trump has denied all allegations of such payments, but Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg appears to be moving forward with charges.

This all stems from an allegation seven years ago that Trump had an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels while he was (and still is) married to his wife, Melania. In order to keep Daniels quiet about the affair, Trump allegedly arranged for over $100 to be sent to her in “hush money.” This money was supposedly hidden in a way that could be a tax violation, which is a misdemeanor in New York.

Alvin Bragg’s office will have the challenge of proving that this misdemeanor rises to the level of a felony by showing that the “hush money” was also somehow a campaign finance violation. Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, has already pleaded guilty to his part in this alleged plot. Trump says that this is all part of a witch hunt, no different than the disproven “Russia, Russia, Russia” narrative that was pervasive for many years of his Presidency.
