President Trump Scolds California Government Over Wildfire Response

President Donald Trump participated in a roundtable discussion about the Pacific Palisades wildfires in Southern California. There were quite a few people in attendance, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. The Mayor made headlines recently for her international trip to Ghana while her constituents battled wildfires. There were quite a few things that could have been done to prevent or lessen the severity of the wildfires. Trump brought up those things during the roundtable.

An example of mitigating measures that Trump touched on was the obvious lack of water in the reservoir. He also echoed the complaints of residents who lost their homes by speaking about the permit process. California residents are required to get permits to rebuild their homes. This process is reportedly going to take 18 months. They are also being blocked from coming back to their homes to clean up in favor of Government contractors who may take their sweet time getting to every home.
