The rapper known as Fat Joe called Puerto Rican Trump supporters “house ns” during a podcast with Breakbeat. Fat Joe, who is Puerto Rican, commented in response to the Tony Hinchcliffe joke at the NYC Madison Square Garden Trump rally. The comedian, also known as “Kill Tony,” joked about Puerto Rico being an island of floating garbage. The joke brought up the serious issue of overflowing landfills on the Caribbean island. Much of the mainstream media and politicians have framed Hinchcliffe’s joke about Puerto Rican people themselves. Fat Joe did the same thing, accusing people who support Trump of self-hating. Trump’s campaign disavowed the joke almost immediately.
