Secret Service Director Gives Pitiful Excuse For Security Failure After Trump Assassination Attempt

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle gave a pitiful excuse for the obvious security failure that took place during the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump. Cheatle says the rooftop from which the shooter attempted to take Trump’s life was identified as a security risk before the speech. However, the decision was made not to place agents on top of the roof to secure it but to secure the inside of the building instead. Cheatle says this was done because the “sloped roof” would be dangerous to agents.

The result of not placing Secret Service on top of the roof was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks climbing up and shooting the President. Politicians, the press, media pundits, and regular people alike have been asking how such a catastrophic lapse in security took place among an elite group like the Secret Service. President Trump was shot from an elevated surface a mere 400 feet away. Anyone with a brain and a pair of eyes would have made sure that obvious location was secured before Trump got on stage.

The sloped roof excuse doesn’t make sense, considering the fact that Secret Service countersnipers were set up on top of sloped roof buildings directly next to Trump’s stage. These same agents also patrol sloped-roof areas of the White House. Also, regular people saw the shooter long before he got on the roof. So did Secret Service. There are so many unanswered questions here that such an issue could become subject to wild conspiracy theories and allegations of corruption within the Secret Service.
