Small Ohio Town Overtaken By Haitian Migrants

The small Ohio town of Springfield has been entirely overtaken by Haitian migrants. The city has experienced a 20% population increase in just four years. This growth is almost exclusively from migrants. Some say that a small, dying Rust Belt city benefits from such an influx of new people. Others say that they are taxing city and state resources, which is unsustainable.

There is also the issue of cultural conflicts. During a city council meeting, one resident stated that the migrants chop off the heads of ducks captured from parks and take the ducks home to eat. This was conflated with another story in Canton, Ohio, about an American black woman who ate a cat. Those two things are unrelated. The media is keying in on the cat story falsely being attributed to Haitian migrants to sweep the entire story under the rug, to little avail. The migrant crisis is a severe problem that affects ordinary people nationwide.
