Nima Momeni, tech executive of Expand IT, has been arrested for the murder of fellow tech exec and founder of Cash App, Bob Lee. The two knew each other they were seen riding around downtown San Francisco earlier in the day before Lee was killed. The police stated that Bob Lee’s death was not a random attack or a robbery.
There was allegedly an altercation between the two men late at night in the upscale Rincon Hill neighborhood. At some point during this tussle, Momeni stabbed Lee multiple times. Surveillance footage shows Lee attempting to get the attention of a vehicle with hazard lights turned on by lifting his shirt to reveal the stab wounds. The occupants of the vehicle refused to help Lee and drove away. Police arrived on the scene six minutes after a frantic 9-1-1 phone call. Lee eventually died at a nearby hospital.
Bob Lee left behind a wife and two young daughters. He was 43 years old. Nima Momeni is a 38-year-old executive at the tech firm “Expand IT.” He joined that company in 2010 and is a longtime San Francisco resident, previously working at several other tech firms.
