Three Black Men Sue American Airlines For Racism Over Body Odor Claim

Three black men are suing American Airlines for racism over an allegation of body odor that forced them to deplane. The Phoenix to New York flight was preparing to take off when a (white) flight attendant allegedly had eight people removed over an allegation of foul body odor. The removed passengers were all black males. They were not sitting near each other and didn’t know each other. The men appeared to be the only black men on the flight.

After being deplaned, the men waited at the gate for nearly an hour before being allowed back on the flight. They were initially told there would be another flight to complete their journey. Then they were told that no other flights were available, so they returned to the flight they were kicked off. None of the passengers or flight attendants have come forward to confirm or deny the body odor complaint. Three of the eight men are now suing the airline for an allegation of racism, as they see no other reason why they were forced to deplane.
