Tucker Carlson announced that his primetime news show called “Tucker Carlson Tonight” will return, exclusively to Twitter. Carlson said that the show will, of course, be modified from the version that has been on the air for the past six-and-a-half years. This news comes on the heels of news that Tucker’s lawyers are going after Fox for breach of contract. His lawyers state that any non-compete clause that existed in his contract with Fox should be vacated due to Fox violating the contract. This means that the show may be very similar to the previous Fox News incarnation.
Liberal mainstream media voices, such as Brian Stelter (now on NBC), have expressed concern over Tucker’s announcement. Stelter says that this move now cements Twitter as a “right-wing” website. CNN published an article labeling Tucker as a “right-wing extremist”. Some people have accused Elon Musk of courting Carlson to the platform with financial incentives or maybe even a contract. Musk took to Twitter to deny that any sort of deal exists between Twitter and Tucker Carlson and that Tucker will be subject to the same rules and regulations as anyone else.
