A 60-year-old woman was savagely beaten on an NYC subway platform with her own cane by a 47-year-old mentally ill man with an extensive rap sheet. The woman, Laurell Reynolds, uses a walker and a cane to get around. She was attempting to use the stairs in the subway when she encountered the suspect, Norton Blake. He began to curse at her, telling her to get out of the way. An altercation happened soon thereafter.
The man wound up taking her cane and beating her with it for over two minutes. He beat her so badly that the cane snapped over her body. Nobody stepped in to help, but video of the incident has gone viral. Police initially nabbed the suspect on the scene, but let him go. The police are now looking to find Blake. His last known address was a mental institution in Manhattan.
