Vegas Courtroom Attacker Returns In Shackles And Heightened Security

Debora Delone Redden, the man from the now-viral Las Vegas courtroom jumping attack, has returned for sentencing. When Redden attacked the judge, he was also there for sentencing. That process was interrupted due to his attack. So, he had to return to complete the sentencing process. This time, the court took extra precautions to ensure that Redden would not attack anyone again. He appeared in a spit mask, shackles that crossed his waist, ankles, and wrists. He also wore a covering on his hands that extended beyond his wrists. Mary Kay Holthus, the judge who was attacked, also returned. She rendered a sentence of 19 to 48 months in Nevada State Prison. Holthus clarified that Redden’s attack on her did not influence this sentence. It was for a previous battery charge that occurred in April of 2023. The new battery charges Redden picked up after the courtroom attack will be handled by a separate judge later.
