Senator Bernie Sanders released a scathing statement about the Democratic Party after Vice President Kamala Harris’s loss. Sanders stated that the party has abandoned working class people in this country and, as a result, the people have abandoned the party. He expressed concerns of the wealth gap widening between the rich and poor. The middle class is all but extinct in many parts of the country, if not the entirety of the United States. Sanders went on to address issues like minimum wage and corporate funding of politics, which can be areas where conservative voices may disagree. The core of his argument, however, is correct. The Democratic Party has abandoned working class people.
Democratic operatives and politicians did not particularly like Bernie Sanders’s statement. Nancy Pelosi says she “does not respect” Sanders saying that the Democratic Party has abandoned working class families. Liberal pundit Roland Martin says he’s tired of Bernie’s “bullsh**” and that it is his job as a Senator to galvanize people within the Democratic Party for change. The reality is that all of the people who criticize Bernie Sanders’s statement aren’t getting to the point. And the point is that Kamala Harris lost in dramatic fashion to a person who the Democratic Party and DC uniparty did everything in their power to eliminate. If the left doesn’t do some soul-searching to figure out exactly why this happened, their fate sealed.
