Chicago residents are furious over yet another migrant camp, this time at a hotel in the Hyde Park neighborhood. At least two busloads of “asylum seekers” pulled up to the area from the Southern Border. These migrants will be housed at the Lake Shore Hotel, presumably on the taxpayer’s dime. Alderman Desmon Yancy of the 5th Ward says he found out about the plans to house migrants at the very last minute. Yancy called an emergency community meeting as soon as he found out the news. The meeting was raucous, just the same as several other meetings surrounding this issue.
Chicago, unfortunately, has voted for liberal politicians on a local and national level for the better part of one hundred years. In the Hyde Park neighborhood, this unwavering allegiance to leftist politics is even higher than the overall city average. Such voting patterns will obviously need to change before Chicago’s “asylum city” status will be revoked.
