Donald Trump Indicted Again, This Time Over January 6th

Donald Trump has been criminally indicted for a third time, this time on charges related to his role in the riots of January 6th, 2021. This indictment includes four counts connected to his “efforts to subvert the will of the voters in 2020.” Prosecutors say that despite losing, Trump was determined to stay in power. The former President faces one count of Conspiracy to Defraud the United States, two counts related to efforts to subvert the vote certification proceedings, and one count of conspiracy to violate civil rights. This indictment from Special Counsel Jack Smith comes on the heels of Smith’s other indictment against Trump related to the classified documents Trump stored at Mar-A-Lago.

Trump also faces allegations of defrauding business records in New York from District Attorney Alvin Bragg. That case is most widely known as the Stormy Daniels hush money case. There may also be an indictment in Atlanta from another ambitious District Attorney by the name of Fani Willis in relation to Trump’s alleged efforts to subvert the election process in Fulton County.
