Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis faces two court cases over her alleged inappropriate relationship with Nathan Wade. Willis and Wade are rumored to have a romantic relationship that started before November 2021. People in Atlanta have seen them out and about as a couple would. The problem is that Wade is married, and infidelity in marriage is actually a crime in Georgia. Furthermore, there are allegations of improper handling of public money from the District Attorney’s office to Wade.
The first case against Fani Willis involves Nathan Wade’s divorce from his wife of over 25 years. Willis appointed Wade as a special prosecutor in the election interference case involving President Donald Trump and a host of co-defendants in November 2021. Wade filed for divorce from his wife the next day. The divorce has been contentious and ongoing. When one of Trump’s co-defendants, Michael Roman, filed the allegation of an improper relationship between Willis and Wade, that prompted Wade’s wife to subpoena Willis to divorce court.
The second case is a hearing by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee over the issue of the improper relationship between Willis and Wade. Critics of Michael Roman, including Fani Willis, say that the allegations of an inappropriate relationship are baseless and maybe even racist in nature. The two cases probably would not be called if that is the case. The divorce court subpoena will be a videotaped deposition, and the footage will probably be available to the public. The hearing from Judge Scott McAfee may be an open-gallery court, which is open to the public.
