Fast Food Gurus Say Shrinkflation Has Hit McDonald’s

Fast food gurus on social media claim that McDonald’s has shrunken the size of the Filet-o-Fish sandwich, among other items. A flurry of short-form videos shows people with the world-famous sandwich in their hands. These people do not appear to be giants. However, the sandwich looks small enough to either be held by a gigantic person or to be some type of toy. People in the videos say that this is a new phenomenon and the sandwich was not so small in years past. McDonald’s responded to the controversy by saying that the Filet-O-Fish has not actually changed size at all.

The entire controversy centers around “Shrinkflation” which is the concept of companies charging the same price for a smaller quantity of the same item. Cost-cutting measures are all of the rage considering the bleak economy that has taken over the globe in the past few years, although McDonald’s denies participating in this particular method of saving cash.
