Ford, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Harley Davidson, and other corporations have abandoned their “woke” DEI policies. This follows excellent investigative reporting by Robby Starbuck, a popular “activist” on social media. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies have been a thorn in the side of employees and the general public for at least four years. These policies often put race and sexual identity at the forefront of hiring and firing practices instead of merit, which is what should be paramount. The death of George Floyd prompted companies to take on a more “woke” stance to prevent being labeled as a problematic or “racist” place to work and purchase goods from. Now that such rhetoric has died down years later, so has support for DEI policies.
