Four teenage thugs randomly ambushed and killed a black female Chicago police officer named Areanah Preston. She had just gotten off work late Friday night, early Saturday morning on May 6th, 2023. As she got out of her vehicle to go home, she was ambushed by the thugs in her front yard. At least two of them shot at her and she returned fire. She was killed by the four individuals. They stole her weapon and sold it. They also stole her car which they later set on fire.
One of the teenagers who killed her called his friend to brag about his “work” that was displayed on the news. All of the people involved with her death are in custody. 9-year-old Trevor Breeland, 19-year-old Joseph Brooks, 18-year-old Jakwon Buchanan, and 16-year-old Jaylan Frazier who is being charged as an adult – are charged with first-degree murder as well as multiple counts of armed robbery, arson, burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and unlawful use of a weapon.
Areanah Preston was just 24 years old and only had three years with Chicago Police Department. She was going to graduate from Loyola University with a Master’s in Jurisprudence on Saturday, May 13th, 2023. Areanah’s mother accepted the degree on her behalf during a portion of the commencement where she was honored.
