Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist and newly-elected US House Rep from Missouri, Cori Bush, accused her Republican colleagues of thinking that she is Breonna Taylor. Bush, a Justice Democrat, wore a black face mask with “Breonna Taylor” in white letters written on it. There does not appear to be any witnesses of Republicans on the Hill referring to Bush as “Breonna” as she stated, but it would make sense for a newcomer with a face mask on being referred to by the name on her mask.
If that did happen, then Bush could easily remedy the situation by wearing a name tag or introducing herself to her brand new colleagues. Attempting to solve the “problem” might violate the whole nature of Bush’s candidacy – which was based on the grievance culture surrounding BLM.
