Janet Jackson Doubles Down On Questioning Kamala Harris’s Ancestry

Janet Jackson recently questioned whether Vice President Kamala Harris is black during a written interview with The Guardian. The interviewer asked Janet about the first “black woman” potentially being elected to the White House. This question probably did not go the way the interviewer intended. Janet refused to acknowledge Kamala’s “blackness,” stating that she heard her father was white and that her mom was Indian.

Shortly after the aforementioned interview was released, a fake apology from Mo Elmasri, someone loosely affiliated with the Jackson camp, leaked to news outlets. The “apology” attempted to walk back Janet’s statements about Kamala’s ancestry with the excuse of “misinformation” being the source of confusion. Janet’s official team quickly responded and said that Mo Elmasri is not part of her team and that she has been managed by her brother, Randy Jackson, for years.
