Judge Shot After Making Ruling In Suspect’s Divorce Case

A Maryland District Court judge was shot allegedly by a person whose divorce case he had just presided over. The shooting happened in Hagerstown, Maryland. 52-year-old Washington County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Wilkinson was found in his driveway at 8 p.m. on Thursday. The suspect in the shooting is Pedro Argote, a 49-year-old man from Frederick, Maryland. Judge Wilkinson had just awarded custody of Argote’s children to his soon-to-be ex-wife. Such events are unfortunately becoming more common as family law court is seen as more and more adversarial against men in the United States.
