37-year-old Max Azzarello set himself on fire outside of Donald Trump’s NYC “hush money” trial. The St. Augustine, Florida, man did not pass away on the scene. He succumbed to his injuries hours later in a hospital. Friends and family of Azzarello say that he struggled with mental issues and echoed wild “conspiracy theories” in recent years. He did not appear political, as he criticized Democrats and Republicans in a lengthy, scathing manifesto published to his Substack. The reason for the self-immolation event that ultimately took his life was to bring awareness to a myriad of things, most notably the issue of cryptocurrency as a Ponzi scheme.
