Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg Files Motion To Hold Donald Trump In Contempt For Violating Gag Order

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has filed a motion to hold President Donald Trump in contempt of court over violating a gag order. The violation Bragg is referring to is at least one Truth Social post in which Trump calls Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen “sleazebags.” The penalty for violating the gag order is $1,000. The Manhattan D.A.’s office says there are three such violations from Trump, for a grand total of a $3,000 fine. Some talking heads on television have suggested jail time for Trump if he continues to violate the gag order instead of the meaningless $1,000 fine. Jailing a President for social media posts would be extraordinarily outrageous, especially in a town where suspected violent criminals are released from jail with zero bail.
