A Chicago-area mother took to social media to defend her two sons who were arrested for killing police officer Ella French. Emonte Morgan and Eric Morgan were both arrested shortly after a routine traffic stop turned deadly. Ella French and her partner (who has yet to be identified) pulled over a vehicle for expired tags. The driver, Eric Morgan, initially cooperated with the stop. Emonte, however, did not cooperate. A struggle ensued and Eric ran away. A gun was produced from the passenger side of the vehicle and Emonte Morgan shot both officers.
Ella French was killed on the scene of the traffic stop and her partner was shot in-between his eyes and is in critical condition. A third officer was on the scene and started to arrest Eric after he fled. As the officer was placing handcuffs on Eric, the gunshots rang out. So the officer ran toward the gunshots where he got into a shootout with Emonte. The suspect was struck at least twice and was taken into custody then admitted to the hospital. Eric ran off again and was captured by local residents and held until the police came to arrest him.
The mother of both men, Evalena Flores, recorded herself in her car defending them. She stated that they are not monsters and they were simply scared of Chicago Police, as everyone else in the city is. After a brief period of time speaking to social media in her car, she then took a trip to the hospital to see Emonte. She attempted to enter the hospital by barging in and was quickly arrested by security and police on the scene. Another person was arrested in this ridiculous mess for straw purchasing the weapon used in the murder of Ella French. The vehicle Emonte and Eric Morgan were driving in was also in the name of the straw purchaser.
