A homeowner from Queens, New York City, was arrested over an illegal eviction attempt on a squatter in her million-dollar home. Adele Andaloro inherited her family’s home in Flushing, Queens. While selling her house, she noticed someone had damaged the front door and changed all the locks. Squatters moved into the home in February and are now refusing to leave. Upon notifying the police, at least one or two squatters were arrested and taken away from the house. However, a man named Brian Rodriguez can still maintain his squatter status pending an eviction process.
Local news cameras were rolling during an impromptu confrontation between Andaloro, Rodriguez, and the police. Andaloro was arrested after Rodriguez called the police on her for changing the locks. He says he isn’t leaving until the homeowner pays him for “work” that he paid to have done to the home or until a legal eviction through court.
