Olympic Silver-Medalist Kim Glass Speaks Out After Random LA Attack

Olympic Silver-Medalist volleyball player Kim Glass was attacked at random in Downtown Los Angeles last Friday. Glass just got done having lunch with a friend when a homeless person threw a ten-inch bolt at her face. She suffered massive lacerations and fractures around her eye socket. Blood was everywhere. The attack was so vicious that it could have blinded her. Glass is in the process of healing and just had several stitches removed in the area of the wound. Doctors told her that the stitches were holding together a laceration that went down to the bone.

A good samaritan by the name of Benson Parks chased the man after he tried to get away. He eventually caught the man and then held him down, while recording the crime scene with his phone, until the police got there. And, of course, the attacker is someone who is known to the police. He has two prior felony charges and at least one prison term that began serving back in 2019. All of his crimes involved attacking women. The attacker was out on parole when he struck Glass with the flying metal object.

Kim Glass appeared on Fox News to speak about the incident and also the problem with Los Angeles’s soft-on-crime policy. Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon is notorious for allowing violent criminals to return to the streets due to a lack of proper prosecution. Gascon is currently battling the courts over his refusal to enforce California’s “three-strike” rule. This rule states that a person who is a repeat felony offender will receive tougher sentencing for each new conviction. If that policy was followed with the Downtown attacker then maybe his two prior felony charges and/or convictions would have kept him in the penitentiary. This is the central point Kim Glass made on Fox News. Menaces to society should be kept off of the streets because of their inability to stop violating innocent people.
