CNN interviewed a group of so-called “moderate” voters in Pennsylvania to get their opinion of Vice President Kamala Harris. Pennsylvania is a critical battleground state that could go either way during the General Election. They have 20 electoral votes, a substantial number that cannot be understated. The Harris/Walz ticket might have been more robust in the state if Harris had selected Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, as previously rumored. However, there is a problem within the Democratic Party.
Anti-Semitism has been sparking up a lot from the left due to the Israel/Palestine conflict. A Shapiro VP nomination may have drawn more condemnation than celebration, thus neutralizing any home court advantage he may have. This makes her capture of Pennsylvania a much more difficult task, even if her road to success in the state is more accessible due to a lack of Joe Biden.
Moderate voters in Pennsylvania appreciate that Joe Biden has stepped down due to his advanced age and lack of mental acuity. However, they have concerns about the far-leftist Kamala Harris as well. Many of the well-off people CNN spoke to in Pennsylvania say they are on the fence about who to vote for but may ultimately vote Kamala.
