Apparently, superstar rapper Drake has an elaborate, framed painting of Chairman Mao Zedong in his house. The mass murder and communist leader killed an estimated 30 to 80 million of his own people in China during the so-called “Great Leap Forward.”
His regime was ruthless and brutal. Not many people praise him in a popular culture sense unlike another murderer who was hated by many in Che Guevara. Mao Zedong apparel isn’t exactly the hottest in the streets right now, nor has it ever been.
Drake is such a powerful and popular artist, however, that he could change the image of a Mao away from a brutal dictator into more of a mysterious persona.
Interestingly enough, Drake just released a brand new song during the China Virus pandemic titled “Tootsie Slide” that is primed for usage on the Chinese app “Tik Tok.” If you see your children dancing to the song, make sure you give them a quick education on what happened in China under Chairman Mao before they head on over to YouTube and watch the music video of the song.
