Stockton Police May Charge 711 Employees With Assault After Viral Beatdown Video

Stockton Police are investigating both the 711 store employees and an alleged thief after a video has gone viral of the thief catching an epic beatdown from the employees. The suspected thief had allegedly robbed that specific 711 location on two other occasions within the same 24-hour period. His routine was to come in the store and insinuate that he had a gun, then steal a bunch of items and run off. He had already stolen cigarettes and food by the threat of violence. On his third robbery attempt, however, employees and/or owners of the store obviously had enough.

A bystander recorded one person striking the man with some type of large stick or pole while the other person stopped the man from leaving with a large garbage bag full of cigarettes and other items. The video, of course, went viral all over social media with people praising the Sikh man for striking the would-be thief. However, many other people commented that the stick strikes could be seen as assault and the thief may get off scot-free. This could be the case as Stockton police are investigating the employees and/or store owners for assault.
