Target Sales Nose Dive After Pride Month Protests Over Clothing Targeting Children

Target sales dipped dramatically after protests against the company that were sparked by Pride Month merchandise that targeted children. Left-leaning news outlets typically say that the protest was over “pride-themed” merchandise, but that does not tell the full story. Target featured clothing for children that not only had the pride “theme” as far as color, but also very specific built-in technology. “Chest-binders” and “tucking garments”, items used by people who are transitioning, were featured in the aforementioned children’s clothing. The retail giant missed its first quarterly revenue target in six years. The last time a situation like this took place was when the company faced backlash over gender-neutral bathrooms.
