The CBS TV show “The Talk” will briefly cancel live tapings after the on-air dustup between Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood over Meghan Markle. Minutes before the taping of the episode in question took place, showrunners asked Sharon Osbourne if she would like to talk about her friend, Piers Morgan, and his comments about Meghan Markle. She agreed. After Sharon Osbourne gave her opinion on the situation, her co-host Sheryl Underwood began to question her about racism. Things quickly spiraled downhill from there.
Live television shows, especially talk shows, are generally well thought out and orchestrated beforehand to prevent on-air mistakes. If a segment about an important issue happens, it is rarely without careful forethought. So when Sharon Osbourne was asked minutes before airtime if she wanted to speak about Piers Morgan, there was probably already a plan in place to put her on the proverbial hot seat when it comes to Piers Morgan and allegations of “racism” coming from his comments about Meghan Markle. However, this plan was never revealed to her and she later described the segment as an “ambushing”.
The stage had been set (literally and figuratively) for Sharon Osbourne to be forced into fight or flight mode. Rather than speaking about her friend Piers, the show became more of an inquisition on why Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan are racist because Piers doesn’t like Megan and what can be done to fix this. Sharon chose to fight back and a few choice words flew back and forth. Sheryl Underwood allegedly began to cry during the break after Sharon reacted negatively to her questions about racism. There was a closed-door meeting immediately after the show to try and resolve the issues between Sharon and Sheryl but reports say that nothing was accomplished. Osbourne has since apologized for the hurt she may have caused some people by her words, but she stands by the fact she was blindsided and ambushed.
Meghan Markle is truly an agent of chaos. She is the common denominator behind massive fallouts from The United Kingdom to the United States. The Royal Crown is investigating itself over allegations of racism. All of the Royals including Prince William and Prince Philip have been placed in between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, they have to defend themselves against allegations of racism, but on the other hand, they don’t want to do such a thing because the presumption from many is that they are racist. It’s like being guilty until proven innocent.
Meghan Markle has also effectively gotten Piers Morgan removed from his job with Good Morning Britain over his comments about her and her mental health. She allegedly went to the ITV bosses herself and complained. The latest victim of Markle’s trail of tears is “The Talk” and quite possibly – the relationship between Sharon Osbourne and her friend / co-host Sheryl Underwood.
Part of this is clearly Sharon Osbourne’s fault. Not because she is racist or defends racists. Nothing has surfaced to prove that allegation true. However, Sharon has already apologized (sort of) and she is a bonafide liberal herself. The source of cancel culture is from her side of the proverbial aisle. The sword of “wokeness” that liberals like Sharon Osbourne forged to use against the right is now coming right back and being used against themselves. This is of no surprise, it has happened throughout history when liberalism reaches it’s peak which is called communism.
