The graduation announcer for Thomas Jefferson University has gone viral for butchering very simple names during the ceremony. A nearly two-minute-long clip features the woman badly mispronouncing common names like “Thomas” and “Jessica.” The Nursing School students heard the badly butchered names as they walked across the stage. Many of them visibly cringed while others gasped and made comments. One young man named “Thomas” corrected the woman in real-time. It was a mess. The University apologized for the disastrous performance, blaming it on names spelled phonetically on the card the announcer was reading.
