Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick says President Donald Trump desires to charge Americans making under $150,000 per year zero dollars in Federal income taxes. This is in addition to the proposed elimination of taxes on tips, overtime, and social security. Such dramatic changes to the system of American taxation may appear impossible to some, but the President is also proposing ways to make up for the lost revenue.
One of the keys to these lofty ideals becoming successful policy is DOGE. The newly-formed cost-cutting Government agency may end up freeing up so much American taxpayer revenue that some of the revenue will no longer be necessary. if DOGE saves American taxpayers $500 billion per year and taxpayers making less than $150k contribute $200 billion in tax revenue, the Government could tell taxpayers to keep all of their money and they would still save $300 billion.
