House Rep from New York Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) said she is a “Planned Parenthood baby” during a House committee hearing. The hearing was about the high infant mortality rate among black women in the United States. At one point during her talk, AOC appeared to respond to conservatives who criticize Planned Parenthood over the issue of abortion. AOC feverishly defended abortion while shooting black claims of the right not being concerned about black men being gunned down in the street (presumably by law enforcement?) She then went on to claim that she is a Planned Parenthood baby herself.
For a person to call themselves a “Planned Parenthood” baby seems oxymoronic at best. Although they purport themselves to be a holistic healthcare center for women, they are an abortion mill first and foremost. The common retort to criticism of Planned Parenthood is that abortion is only three percent of their services. According to their tabulation, that figure may be true. But it is important to understand what Planned Parenthood counts as a “service”. If they give a woman a handful of vitamins, some birth control, and a pamphlet about the safety of abortion, that may count as at least three different services.
The reality is that Planned Parenthood is an abortion mill. The majority of their money comes directly from performing abortions. Federal money is funneled through the company as well as private donations from corporations and individuals. Planned Parenthood may say that these donation monies are not used for the purposes of abortion, but that is truly unimportant. The money is generated because of what Planned Parenthood does – which is perform abortions. The Healthcare of an expecting mother is not what they specialize in. They are not even certified to perform mammograms. Most prenatal care happens at home or in a proper clinic/hospital.
