Comedian/radio show host Rickey Smiley snapped at black people who are refusing to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. On a recent episode of his radio show, Smiley launched into a tirade against anti-Kamala blacks. He said anyone against her should be blocked on Facebook and other social media platforms. This is the typical response of an ignorant person purely driven by emotion.
The basis of his argument is that Kamala is black and a member of a black sorority; therefore, she should have the support of black people. He also mentioned that if she became President, she could be sworn in on MLK day by the black Supreme Court Justice, Kentaji Brown-Jackson. This is an interesting point because Brown-Jackson and Kamala Harris are married to white men.
Rickey Smiley probably wouldn’t make the same emotional and passionate plea about voting for a black person purely based on skin color when speaking about Candace Owens or Ben Carson. Smiley represents the average uninformed voter who cares about the most unimportant things when selecting a person who can change the trajectory of the United States and the rest of the world.
