Twitter has suspended comedian Kathy Griffin and also H3H3 podcast host Ethan Klein for violating Twitter’s terms of service. To be more exact, what they did was impersonate Elon Musk. This has always been a TOS violation on Twitter, as it is on other platforms. Some say this goes against Musk’s pledge to allow free speech on the platform. Others say that this is a necessary step to prevent fraud and misinformation due to impersonation. Many people have been lured into sometimes dangerous plots by bad actors impersonating well-known people on social media. Musk says that this is not a personal thing because he has not banned the account that follows his airplane, although that is a personal security risk for him.
