Georgia Governor candidate Stacey Abrams has taken time out of her campaign to label baseless insults against black men. This comes from an “effort” to regain the black male vote. She said that black men are victims of “misinformation” so their exodus from the Democratic Party is essentially sabotage. Former Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Lance-Bottoms, echoed Abrams’ sentiments by being specific and saying YouTube is a source of said misinformation.
As of mid-September, Abrams was polling 17% lower among black males. The black female vote essentially remained unchanged. And since Georgia is 33% black, much higher than the 12 to 13% black population nationwide, the black vote is crucial for the Democratic Party’s success.
Since the effort that Stacey Abrams put forth to regain the black male vote is obviously not working, the only things they have left are attacks and insults. They may think that shaming black men into voting for them is an effective campaign strategy. In reality, this may work to send more people away from the Democratic Party altogether. And the people who leave would not just be black males. It would be anyone who is disgusted with the behavior of the party.
