Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis is accused of having an improper relationship with a Special Prosecutor. The man in question, a private lawyer named Nathan Wade, is rumored to be Willis’s romantic interest. He is also married but going through a divorce. Wade has played a prominent role in the Election Interference case involving President Donald Trump. County Records show that Wade has been paid $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. The District Attorney, in this case, Fani Willis, is responsible for authorizing his compensation.
According to the court filings, sources close to both Willis and Wade confirm their ongoing, personal relationship. Wade is accused of using the money dispensed to him by Fani Willis to take her on extravagant trips to Napa Valley, Florida, and a cruise in the Caribbean. One of Trump’s co-defendants, Michael Roman, is making the allegations against Willis. If true, the allegations may not rise to illegality, but they certainly raise questions of ethics. At worst, this could become a felony charge called “honest services fraud.” This charge refers to a vendor giving a kickback to an employer.
This is not the first time Fani Willis has been accused of potential ethics violations. Donald Trump alluded to Willis being romantically linked to a gang member at one point in the past. Rumors flew after that statement in an attempt to figure out who Trump was speaking about. At first, the allegation was that Trump was speaking about someone named YSL Mondo. Although Willis was YSL Mondo’s defense attorney before she became District Attorney, that is probably not who he was referring to. Rumor has it that Willis was linked to a man named Donovan “Nut” Thomas, who was allegedly killed by the YSL gang in Atlanta back in 2015. Some say this rumor spurred her to take on YSL as the first big case as District Attorney in Fulton County.
