Yet another woke judge is attempting to remove President Donald Trump from the 2024 Primary Ballot, this time in Illinois. Cook County circuit judge Tracie Porter cited the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment clause that prevents people who have participated in insurrection from running. This is a reversal of a panel decision that struck down Illinois citizens who attempted to remove him from the ballot for the same reason.
Porter’s decision mirrors attempts in both Colorado and Maine to remove Trump from the ballot. None of the cases have been successful thus far. Every state, including Illinois, has already “stayed” their decisions (rendered them non-applicable) until a ruling comes down from a higher court. The Colorado decision is currently being reviewed by the United States Supreme Court.
