A Beijing, China hospital is featured in a viral video that shows hundreds of people packed into a hospital due to a mystery respiratory illness. Official word says that this is not a “novel” or “new” virus and that it mostly affects children. Although the origin of this bug is mysterious, there are reports that say this is a form of pneumonia. The video of a Bejing hospital surfaced after reports of an illness affecting the greater region were reported. There are fears that this “mystery illness” could spread overseas and affect the entire world just like COVID-19. As of the writing of this article, there are no plans to restrict travel to and from China nor are there any plans to restrict movement or behavior domestically. If such policies were to be reimplemented, there would most certainly be kickback due to the already existing COVID fatigue.
