Instead of “cockpit,” the term “flight deck” is preferred. There are other terms deemed “non-inclusive” in the world of aviation, such as “ladies and gentlemen,” “manpower,” and “guys.” This comes on the heels of previous movements to change phrases such as “master bathroom” in real estate due to a potential link to slavery in the United States.
