Wealthy Buckhead To Secede From Corrupt City Of Atlanta

The community of Buckhead, currently in Atlanta, Georgia, wants to become its own city to break away from the corruption found within Atlanta. Homicide has increased in the city by over 50% year to date compared to 2020. The mayor, Keisha Lance-Bottoms, is being sued by the family of eight-year-old Secoriea Turner who was shot and killed in the city. Buckhead is a wealthy (and large) community that contributes over 40% of Atlanta’s total revenue. Crime problems that were once invisible in Buckhead are now becoming commonplace.

Citizens of Buckhead have had enough of Atlanta’s incompetence and want to start a new city complete with their own city council, police, and fire. Buckhead has officially filed for divorce from the city of Atlanta. The only thing that is missing is the official papers that seal the deal. Atlanta cannot do much to stop the proceedings, although they would most certainly like to. The state of Georgia has the final say in the matter. If successful, the secession process will go through the State legislature. Although the deal has not been finalized, it will probably be done sooner than later.
