President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has been indicted on nine new federal tax charges. Special Counsel David Weiss alleges that Hunter failed to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. Instead, Hunter paid for his various vices including his famous addiction to drugs and women of the night. Although he eventually paid his taxes, this does not matter in the eyes of the prosecutor. Tax evasion and tax fraud are crimes that do not necessarily take into account debt paid after the initial crime was committed.
The recent charges Hunter Biden faces are in addition to existing gun charges. All of the charges he’s facing were originally included in the sweetheart plea deal that was crafted for him earlier this year. If Judge Maryellen Noreika signed off on the plea deal, Hunter would have faced no prison time and he would have had immunity from some future crimes. Judge Noreika thought the plea deal was entirely too far-reaching and declined to sign it. This action led to the plea deal falling apart. Instead of Hunter Biden facing no prison time for tax and gun charges, he may now do serious time behind bars.
The 53-year-old Biden heir has been at the center of controversy over the past few years for various reasons. He was discharged from the US Navy Reserves due to his addiction to crack cocaine. Somehow, he procured a lucrative board position with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings after exiting the military. The pay was a reported $50,000 per month. The infamous “laptop from hell” revealed that Hunter may be involving his father with some seedy overseas business deals. Emails from said laptop included the “iconic” line “ten for the big guy” which could represent Joe Biden’s share of whatever deal that Hunter would secure.
