Anthony Brian Logan debates M. Reese Everson on RT over a college professor suspended for NOT being racist. UCLA suspended professor Gordon Klein after he refused to give preferential treatment to black students in relation to their final exams due to protests over the death of George Floyd. A student presenting himself as a “white ally” attempted to get the professor to consider giving black students the opportunity to miss their final exams or to have the exam not count towards their final grade.
Klein is publicly speaking out against his three-week suspension, saying that he is simply following the school’s guidelines to give exams as normal, barring any actual extenuating circumstances. Like the death of a family member or an injured student. He also refuses to be racist and treat black students differently. There is an online petition calling for the professor’s permanent removal, due to the tone of his letter.
