This news is devastating for New Yorkers who were forcibly vaccinated to keep their jobs in the public and private sectors during the height of the pandemic.
It is also a bittersweet moment for those who have been pro-bodily-autonomy. It is not a good thing to see people vaccinated against their will become the primary target of the new strain. Especially after they were told that the vaccine would protect them from COVID. However, those who refused vaccination and had their lives ruined now know their sacrifice was not in vain.
